JOB VACANCIES AT FAKO HEART CENTRE BUEA (Specialist Cardiac Hospital)

FAKO HEART CENTRE, a specialist cardiac hospital in Buea, is announcing job vacancies for the positions listed below;
1) MANAGER

Responsibilities

-Coordinate all non-medical departments
-Supervise non-medical office staff
-Trains, schedules and supervises office staff to ensure adequate medical support
-Prepares all monthly reports
-Liaises with other departments to ensure smooth running of the entire hospital
-Monitors, maintains and tracks daily statistics
-Ensures compliance requirements
Requirements (qualifications, skills and Experience)

-Holder of a Master’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or an equivalent
-Minimum of 3 years of hospital management experience 
-Must be bilingual (English and French), knowledge in Spanish is an added advantage
-Adequate knowledge and use of computer business applications
-Demonstrate ability to manage office operations and supervise staff  effectively
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
2) FINANCE ASSISTANT

Responsibilities
-Billing and booking functions including cash payments, posting and  balancing daily sheets of transactions
-Follow all central business office policies and procedures
-Prepare new records, refiles and maintains patient medical records
-Process patients payment 
-Accurate record keeping
-Manage petty-cash
-Provide excellent support to internal and external business partners
-Receive, verify and process suppliers invoices and ensure accurate  customer invoices are generated
-Effectively research, analyse and resolve supplier invoice discrepancies
-Respond to payment-status inquiries
-Process travel expenses
Requirements (qualifications, skills and Experience)

-Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or an equivalent
-Minimum 3 years of work experience (experience in a hospital environment is an advantage)
-Must be bilingual (English and French), knowledge in Spanish is an added advantage
-Advanced computer skills
-Adequate knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and use of office equipment and programs
-Must be organized, and have exceptional attention to accuracy and details 
-Must be accurate with numbers
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
3) MEDICAL OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

Responsibilities
-Interacts with patients to ensure check-in and check-out is done efficiently
-Make advance appointments and handles special requests
-Accurately register patients into the hospital management system
-Communicate with insurance companies and other medical offices to obtain referrals and verifications of coverage
-Receives office calls and messages  
-Performs daily business operations
Requirements (qualifications, skills and Experience)

-Holder of at least GCE Advanced level or an equivalent
-Experience with office operations
-Basic computer skills
-Must be bilingual (English and French), knowledge in Spanish is an added advantage
-Excellent customer service skills
4) SENIOR NURSES

Responsibilities
-Perform physical exams and take health histories
-Provide health promotion, counselling and education
-Administering medications and other personalized interventions
-Interpreting patient information and making critical decisions about needed actions
-Coordinating care in collaboration with other health care professionals 
-directing and supervising care delivered by other health care personnel like assistant nurse
-conducting research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes
-Provide pre and post-operative care to patients
-Play a key role in promoting the wellness of patients by performing a wide range of services
-Coordinate patient flow from other hospital units into the operating room
Requirements (qualifications, skills and Experience)

-Holder of at least State Registered Nursing (SRN) Diploma
-Minimum 3 years of work experience (experience in a hospital environment is an advantage)
-Must be bilingual (English and French), knowledge in Spanish is an   added advantage
-Basic computer skills
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

5) ASSISTANT NURSES

Responsibilities
-Play a key role in the lives of the patients and in keeping the senior nurses up to date on vital information about the patients’ conditions
-Provide basic care to patients , as well as assist them in daily activities they might have trouble with on their own
Requirements (qualifications, skills and Experience)

-Holder of at least Nursing Assistant Diploma
-Minimum 2 years of work experience (experience in a hospital environment is an advantage)
-Should be bilingual (English and French), knowledge in Spanish is an added advantage
-Basic computer skills
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6) MEDICAL RECEPTIONISTS

Responsibilities
-Reception and registration of patients
-Schedule patients for follow-up, appointments, referrals, monitors no-shows, late arrivals
-Perform scanning 
-Responds to patients inquiries
-Manages patient flow
-Carry out other responsibilities assigned by management
Requirements (qualifications, skills and Experience)

-Holder of at least 3 GCE Advanced level papers
-Minimum 2 years of work experience in a hospital setting
-Should be bilingual (English and French), knowledge in Spanish is an added advantage
-Basic computer skills
-Excellent customer service

7) CARE ASSISTANTS

Responsibilities
-Deliver care as delegated
-Respond to enquiries from relatives and visitors
-Serve meals
-Respond to patients inquiries
-Record and safe-keep patients property and valuables
-Assist in moving patients with difficulties
-Assist patients with occupational, physiotherapy and recreational activities
-Carry out other responsibilities assigned by management
Requirements (qualifications, skills and Experience)

-Must understand equality and diversity issues
-Must ensure confidentiality
-Basic knowledge of personal care and excellent hygiene skills
-Always maintain a professional image in the work environment
-Must be duty conscious, polite and hardworking
-Able to follow clear instructions and work as part of a team.
